SKATE HALLOWEEN NIGHT
Well, there will be no Halloween celebration in the Castro. The City is calling it off. Like many other groups, San Francisco's Midnight Rollers have made a tradition over the years of coming to the Castro for some fantastic Halloween experiences, but we have done it on skates. Over the past 3 years we have noticed an ever growing aggressiveness and meanness among some of the party goers. It has grown so bad that we have changed our Halloween tradition and would like to invite the public to get away from the Castro and come boogie in the Embarcadero with the Midnight Rollers on Halloween night.
For San Francisco’s skaters, Halloween has always been a fantastic experience. Skating through this magnificent city in wild costumes and in full party mode is the kind of experience that makes this such a fantastic place to live. We plan to meet at Ferry Plaza in front of the Ferry Building at Market St. and the Embarcadero. Come shake your groove thang with the 'GodFather of Skating' David 'D' Miles (in costume as Don King) as he grooves to the old school funk and roller disco beat from 7:00 PM to midnight. You don't have to skate. You can dance, hula hoop, or just relax and watch the action.
At 9:00, some of the skaters will take off and skate along Market Street to the Castro. We don't plan to stay, we just want to come skating through and then return to the Embarcadero. What makes this roller skate tour/party so unique the GodFather has the party rollin' through the streets of San Francisco pumping the disco beat with the 'Port-a-Party'. This is a refurbished jogging stroller that has speakers and 400 watts of power and an Ipod. We will stop at all the Halloween celebrations along the way with a party of our own. We will return to the Embarcadero and skate the night away.
Only in America? No. Only in San Francisco!!!!!!! San Francisco skaters will strive to prove that we are STILL the City That Knows How!!!
