Christopher Murdoch: Under Every Grief and Pine
Christopher Murdoch's “Under Every Grief and Pine” is the atist's attempt to chronicle a period of loss, confusion and depression in his life. It began from “a dark mental state and Chris was sure that 'nothing would ever be normal again.”
Murdoch started the works using panels of wood that he had found at illegal dump sites, sidewalks and among piles of discarded furniture. 'Since all of the wood had its own nicks, dings, and scars and had been carelessly discarded after it had outlived its usefulness I felt we had something in common.'
The show's opening will take place at Cafe Royale at 800 Post Street (@ Leavenworth) on Thursday, November 5th from 8pm to midnight.
