Submission Guidelines

  1. Please use the following form to submit an event for consideration to be posted to The Squid List. For more information on The Squid List, including our complete submission guidelines, please read through our Frequently Asked Questions.

  2. If a field is not relevant, please leave it blank, unless of course if it is a required field.

  3. Please do not include any html tags in this form. All posts are sent out as plain-text only.

  4. Your post should be written for a general audience, it's best not to write it in the first person.

  5. Please remove all the ">" if you are cutting-and-pasting from a forwarded email.

  6. Please do not write in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. There's no reason to shout at the list subscribers and it is much harder to read this way. Sentence case, with both upper and lower case letters works best.

  7. Please do not submit any information in press release format, this is not a media list.

  8. This list does not accept any attachments. The best way to include an image is to list a direct url to an image that is up on a website.

  9. In your event description, please indicate if there are any age restrictions with your event.

  10. In your event description, please indicate if there are any accommodations for people with disabilities, such as: wheelchair access, sign language interpretation, assisted listening devices, etc.

  11. Please do not include any personal messages in your event write-up. Everything in your write-up should be for public consumption. Events that have administrative requests or internal messages for The Squid List administrators will be rejected.

  12. Due to the high volume of submissions to the list, it is not possible for us to send out weekly posts for the same event or series.

  13. We do not post weekly/monthly event calendars. You can submit selected, individual events, but not entire weekly/monthly event calendars.

  14. If the same event is repeated on multiple days, then please submit one write-up, not individual submissions for each date.

  15. If your event takes place at different venues, please submit one event write-up that references all the venues and the associated dates.
